East West Rail Wstern Section Phase 2 will reinstate and upgrade the railway between Bicester - Bedford and Milton Keynes - Princes Risborough.
We consulted in September 2015 and have taken account of the feedback received to further develop our proposals.
The railway is a sustainable form of transport. We work hard to reduce our impact on the environment and put rail at the heart of a low carbon economy.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the scheme is currently underway and a draft Environment Statement (Draft ES) has been prepared with findings to date.
The purpose of this Draft ES is to inform consultation. It documents and reflects the current stage of the EIA undertaken to date for the Project. The Draft ES describes the likely significant effects arising from the construction and operation of the project alone and cumulatively, the methodology used to identify and assess these, as well as the current proposed mitigation measures to avoid, reduce or remedy these effects.
The second round of public consultation took place from 30 June – 11 August 2017. This was open to all and invited people to view, discuss and give feedback on our plans. We will review all feedback and use this to help form the final scheme design.
